shanebio11Horses – The Story

My relationship with horses began well before I started photographing them. I was a ranch hand/horse wrangler for ranches in Arizona and Wyoming after I was burned out from commercial photography. Talk about a pay cut. One day I blew the dust off of my Nikon and began to photograph what I love- the horses and people I worked with.

This collection of photographs are mainly from large ranches from Arizona up to Montana. I capture these amazing moments when ranch hands move their horses early in the morning and late afternoon when the Sun is behind the dust. All these images are capture on film without the use of digital. It is amazing when all one needs is running horses, good light and tons of dust…. patience. Enjoy!
